The piece, the working title is “Asterion and the Bacchae.” It will be larger than anything Suzanne, Ms. Duplantier, has ever created, immense really, Ms. Duplantier is moving to a new studio to accommodate—The Bacchae were female followers of Bacchus Dionysus, human females who were possessed, they struck water and wine from the earth, fire couldn’t hurt them, they wore live snakes, they literally embodied ecstasy. Asterion plays for them and they dance–Dark Park, no, I did not attend, but Ms. Duplantier was there.
