Interview with Dodi Malor, Co-founder of the Holy Roman Empire Performance Collective

The Holy Roman Empire, at one point we had over three hundred and sixty members! And we made exceptional performances—A true piece of art, who expects that to be safe? Why do you even ask these questions? This instinct for safety smothers everything alive. When I was a little boy—I see your face, but you asked, so now you get an answer. When I was a boy, one of my aunts had a snow globe—oh, your face!—a globe with a tiny gold building inside, my aunt said it was the Colosseum in Rome, the eternal city, the most beautiful place in the world. So I founded the Holy Roman Empire, and I went to the most beautiful place in the world, to play in the dark with the beautiful strangers. There is no safety in beauty, there never has been.
